Builder. Operator. Relationship-Driven Leader.

Talent is everywhere.
Opportunity isn't.
I'm changing that.

Two-time founder and CEO. 17+ years building the partnerships, teams, and technology that bring CS & AI education to every student -- from South Central LA to Silicon Valley.

Jose Quijas - Technology & Innovation Executive

Born in Guadalajara. Raised in South Central. Building in Silicon Valley.

My mother brought me to the United States when I was two years old. She raised me, my older brother, and two sisters on her own in South Central Los Angeles, working as a seamstress so we could have a shot at something more. She always told me: "Education is the one thing they can never take away from you."

In high school at Foshay Learning Center, my math teacher introduced me to FIRST Robotics. That single opportunity changed my life. For the first time, I saw that a kid from my neighborhood could build, lead, and compete at the highest level.

I went on to earn my B.S. in Computer Science from CSU Chico, then founded Quijas Consulting and grew it from a solo operation to a distributed network with seven concurrent project managers. I joined CodeCentral in Las Vegas as their first lead instructor, eventually becoming curriculum director and opening a second center. I led STEM programs at The Pathway School in Pennsylvania, and founded Innovator's Oasis -- all driven by the same belief my mother gave me.

Today I lead AI and Computer Science strategy at the Silicon Valley Education Foundation, a $6.66M nonprofit serving underserved students across 17 districts. But my mission has never changed: ensure that where you're born doesn't determine what you become.

Relationship Builder

Partnerships with districts, sponsors, families, and communities are the foundation of everything I build.

Two-Time CEO

Founded and scaled two organizations from zero -- building revenue, teams, and sustainable operations.

Equity-Driven

Every initiative starts with the students who have the least access.

Organizations and programs I've built from the ground up.

Entrepreneurship

Quijas Consulting

Founded and scaled a technology consulting firm from a solo operation to a distributed contractor network. Grew from a handful of project managers leading teams of 3-5 to seven concurrent project managers, the largest leading teams of 10-30. Sourced, negotiated, and closed MOUs and contracts across education, health, and small-business sectors.

7 concurrent project managers
95% client satisfaction
40% faster release cycles
AI Applications

D[ai]TA

Designed and built an AI platform that converts student assessment data into teacher-ready groupings and lesson plans. Now integrated across SVEF's summer program and adopted by districts serving 2,800+ students.

17 districts served
180+ educators & mentors
2,800+ students
Education Consultancy

Innovator's Oasis

Founded education consultancy advancing STEAM and AI education. Designed curricula adopted across 15+ schools and 10+ partner districts, reaching 1,000+ students. Built cross-sector partnerships with EdTech companies, hardware manufacturers, and community organizations.

Curriculum Design

CS / AI / Engineering Curricula

AI won't replace teachers. But leaders who understand both will reshape education.

The future of education isn't about choosing between technology and humanity. It's about leaders who can hold both -- who understand what a teacher needs at 7am on a Monday, and what an AI system can deliver at scale.

I believe the next generation of education organizations will be led by people who've been in the classroom, who've built the technology, and who've scaled the teams. People who know that a calculator didn't take away our need to understand math -- and that AI won't take away our need for great educators.

My vision: every student in America has access to computer science and AI education by the time they graduate high school. Not as a privilege for those in the right zip code, but as a right for every young person.

Equity at Scale

Move beyond pilot programs to systemic, district-wide access.

Teacher Empowerment

AI should save teachers time, not add complexity to their plate.

Responsible Innovation

Build governance frameworks before deploying AI in classrooms.

I build systems that let smaller teams hold their output.

Most of my work doesn't look like technology. It looks like finding where an organization loses hours, and building the system that gives them back. I've automated status reporting and payroll workflows that were consuming staff weeks. I've absorbed IT and CRM integration when those functions hit capacity. I've run needs assessments across every team in an organization and turned the answers into a single systems roadmap. When budgets tighten, capacity per dollar is the only metric that matters - and that is the work I have been doing.

Automation

Systems That Recover Hours

Built internal tools that eliminated recurring administrative loads: automated status lookups replacing manual email reporting, and auto-formatting payroll submission matched to district requirements.

Integration

Cross-Functional Capacity

Stepped into IT, CRM, and AI integration when those functions reached capacity - including org-wide Salesforce workflow design, systems training, and AI adoption guidance across every team.

Finance

Budget & Program Authority

Managed program budgets up to $1M with sign-off authority, plus competitive grant acquisition and multi-year grant compliance and reporting.

From founding companies to leading movements.
